Bought it for my wife, who has sentimental memories of it, and she is very pleased with the recording which is very good for its age. But the songs are stand alone and you will find yourself singing selections through out your day. It's a tale of a simpler America and god fearing Midwesterners. However, the bulk of this album is the exact same recordings as the ones released in 1956 with the original release of Capitol soundtrack. I recommend anyone who wants a copy of the film soundtrack to buy this one. I purchase this CD because of the song You'll Never Walk Alone. This 2013 production (co-incidentally Hosted by Audra McDonald) is Superb, Nathan Gunn is ideal as Billy with Kelli O'Hara, giving Julie just the right amount of grit & pathos respectively.
